Amanda Berry, LMFT

Founder & Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in IL

Hi! I’m Amanda — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Revive Therapy.

What began as a relationship-focused practice in Chicago has grown into something much more personal: a space designed to support women navigating the pressure, identity shifts, and emotional load of modern life.

Through Revive and our HerSpace Therapy offering, we now support women across Illinois — both virtually and in-person at our Crystal Lake office.

My work has evolved from helping couples improve connection to helping women reconnect with themselves — especially during seasons of transition like motherhood, career changes, relationship shifts, or simply the quiet realization that something isn’t working anymore.

HerSpace was created as a focused extension of this work — a place where women don’t have to perform, fix, or hold everything together.

Get to know me:

Creating and running Revive has allowed me to merge two of my greatest passions—helping others and building something meaningful.

While Revive began with a strong focus on couples therapy, my work naturally evolved toward supporting women — especially those navigating the overwhelming mental load of trying to “do it all.”

As both a therapist and a mother, I saw how many women were quietly carrying burnout, identity confusion, and emotional exhaustion behind the scenes.

HerSpace Therapy was born from this realization.

Today, Revive serves as the umbrella practice, while HerSpace offers dedicated support for women seeking clarity, balance, and a stronger sense of self.

With the addition of our Crystal Lake location, we’re expanding access to this work beyond Chicago — creating space for women to receive support closer to home.

Background & Experience

  • After college, I started my career in digital advertising. While I built incredible relationships, I had zero passion for the work. I knew it wasn’t my long-term path, so I went back to school part-time while working full-time, earning my master’s degree in counseling. I always knew I wanted to run a small business—it runs in my family. My dad owned and operated an architecture firm, and I grew up watching the fulfillment that comes from working for yourself. I feel the same way about my practice—it's my "first baby."

I started the practice right after my maternity leave with my daughter. A few months in, I hired my first employee, and from there, the team grew. I’ve intentionally kept it small, ensuring I can balance my work with being a mom. Today, I focus primarily on leading and growing the practice, ensuring we continue to offer thoughtful, specialized support for women across Illinois — both virtually and through our Chicago and Crystal Lake locations.

  • I hold a Master's degree in Couple & Family Therapy and am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is my primary therapeutic modality. While I am not currently seeing clients, I am the owner and founder of Revive, where I run the practice and support a team of therapists. When I return to seeing clients, I will no longer be working with couples directly. However, my training in relational systems, including my certifications in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1) and Prepare and Enrich Premarital Therapy, continues to inform my holistic approach.

  • I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Illinois.

Outside of Work

I love great food and wine, a strong cup of coffee, and true crime podcasts. Traveling with my husband and kids is my favorite way to unwind, and I cherish the moments we spend exploring new places together. When it comes to self-care, I find peace in the small, everyday moments—listening to a podcast while folding laundry, getting lost in a book, brainstorming house projects, or simply savoring a quiet morning before the day begins. Exercise and eating well are also priorities for me, helping me stay grounded in both work and life. Much like the women I support, I’m always balancing business ownership, motherhood, and everyday life — and I believe therapy should reflect real life, not perfection.
